Are you a victim of the “no-car” garage? This week we discuss tips to help you organize your garage so that you can finally get your car back where it belongs!

Thoughts on garage organization…  If you have a two car garage, and leave both cars outside because of clutter, you are leaving a significant financial investment out in the driveway and subject to sun damage, weather damage, vandalism, theft, and burglary.  For our example, let’s look at an average car with a price of $20,000—your car may cost more or less.  So you’re leaving $40,000 worth of investment outside, for what?  Most garage clutter is years of stuff that you’re not ready to get rid of, but don’t want in the house.  So it it probably has very little value, and certainly not more than the $40,000 you have sitting in the driveway.

Also, think about where you live in the country.  We live in New England, and are subject to hot summers, and cold snowy winters.  While most people don’t have climate controlled garages, it is great to head out after a snowstorm, and not have to clean off the car.  That is also a time saver in the northern climates, no need to warm up the car, no need to scrape frosty windows, and no need to clear snow off of the car while you freeze!
