When I was injured this summer, my physical therapist suggested I obtain a pair of compression shorts or tights. I did and I love the way they feel to run in. I have a pair that is specifically designed for those with IT Band problems. So yes, I do feel they are worth the money. However, I know that most runners are much more accepting of spending over $50 on a pair of tights than they are speaking $60 on a pair of socks.
I was sent a pair of CEP Compress Socks recently and tried them out. I had read about how difficult they are to get on, but I disagree. They were fairly easy to get on!
From the moment I had them on, they were comfortable and my feet were happy. Its like your legs and feet are being hugged and supported all at the same time. My run in these socks was great. I felt like my feet were supported, my (very high) arch was also supported, and my calves were warm and assisted by the socks.
As you can see, they made quite the fashion statement. I know I got some smiles while on the trial, but I especially got some looks when I visited Target after my run. Regardless, I want to tell you, they are awesome.
My feet go numb a lot…I lose feeling in my pinky toes first and have no hope of regaining it throughout my run. With these socks, not only were my feet NOT numb, they were warm and although this is a tough word to quantify…they felt “peppy”. So, the verdict is YES, there are socks out there worth $60.
I’ve since bought myself a second pair of CEP socks….in pink! I wear them for my hill work mostly. I would wear them more often but alas, I only have two pairs. However, I have to let you know…these socks are not only my favorite running socks, they are my favorite all the time socks. More often than not, these are my favorite thing to slip into AFTER a run or a long day. Try a pair, I promise, they won’t let you down.
