AS you all know Fridays are the day I like to let you know what my favorite
things are. Today I want to tell you about something that I love both
personally and professionally. Its by Neat Co. and its called Neat
Receipts. Its a small scanning device that allows the user to scan all
sizes of paper (up to 8.5 inches wide) and store the resulting images in a
specialized computer program. While you can scan receipts, the program also
has special abilities for items such as business cards.
When you scan a receipt, the image is brought up on the screen for you to
review. The program them interprets the data on the screen and pulls the
date, location, time and amount spent off the of the receipt itself. From
there, the user can create folders, genres and expense reports based on eh
scanned and collected information.
For me, I scan all of my receipts and then simply drag the item into folders
I’ve created to designated items I need to taxes, items I’ve purchase for
clients, personal items. Etc. When I need to access the information, I
already have a running total and can analyze it as much or as little as I’d
like.
Neat Receipts is great for all of of those little pieces of paper you have
floating around your desk and purchase. By creating digital files you are
getting rid of physical paperwork and clutter. You can even name each file
easily so you can search for it quickly on your computer at a later time.
No more searching for things!
Neat Co. also has a larger model with more options and capability. Its
called Neat Desk. You can check out both of their products on their website
