Crate training is common for dog of all ages these days. The ugly fact of the matter is that crates are well, ugly. Having them in our homes isn’t exactly the look we are going for most of the time.
That’s where DenHaus comes in. They have created a line of dog crates available in various sizes, in different styles, to match any decor.
I was sent the TownHaus version. It is available in two colors; mahogany and espresso. For those of you who follow my blog, we all know how much I love brown/black furniture as I’ve previously discussed The Container Store and Ikea’s offerings and how easy they are to maintain.
The crate arrived in a LARGE box and the assembly took less than ten minutes. Its snap together construction. We didn’t even need a drill.
The crate is made of real wood and is very heavy and sturdy. Its a striking piece of furniture that stands on its own. I was quite impressed.
You do need to add a mattress or some sort of bed to the inside of the crate. (They sell beds that fit perfectly.) The front of the crate has a removable front gate. You can slide it out to allow your pet to come and go as they want, or add it in so your pet stays where you put them.
I have the removable metal grate and it looks amazing in my home.
As an an organizer, this crate is the best possible solution for pets and humans. The pet has a comfortable home that they can all their own. And you, the human don’t have the sacrifice style or functionality. You can put items on top of this crate; books, lamps, etc without worry. It also saves you space. With traditional dog crate you have to find a spot for them in your home. This crate takes the place of a side table, night table, etc in your home. Although I love its styling, I love the functionality most of all!
