Well its here again, Black Friday and while many of you are out shopping (or have returned already from shopping), it is the official kick off of the holiday season.
Regardless of the size of your holiday celebration, its time to start getting the work done. We all lead busy lives and fitting in all the preparation that the holidays require is a difficult task. So start off with making a list of everything you need to accomplish. Then take a look at your calendar and determine when you would like to get things done.
Be specific. Pick an exact date and time to pick out cards, another to address them. Pick a day and time to go shopping and pick another for wrapping. Have a friend join you so you hold each other accountable and are less likely to push off the task to another day. Most importantly, get out there early so if something does happen, like a sick child, you have time to reschedule a “make up date”. You don’t miss appointments with your hair dresser or a doctor so don’t miss them with yourself!
If you can, make a holiday buddy. This is someone you can go shopping with or you can trade babysitting time with so you can shop alone. You can wrap together or bake together and decrease the amount of work and increase the amount of fun you have. The holidays don’t have to be tedious and when you do things together, they are just more FUN!
