Remembering birthdays and anniversaries can be a challenge. Its tough for everyone and no matter how how hard you try, you will eventually miss one event. Here are a few ways to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
1. Subscribe to an online service. Lots of online services, like the one offered by Hallmark, allow you to enter in special dates and they will remind you prior to the event. For this to work you need to make sure you are checking the email you use for the subscription service regularly so you don’t miss their notifications.
2. Buy a perpetual calendar. These are just paper calendars that don’t have years and days on them. Hang it in your office wall and take a look at it at the start of every month.
3. Pick a day every few months to buy cards. Make a list of your upcoming events and head to the store. Then use post it notes or a box to organize them by date. Make sure you mark them with the date they need to be sent, NOT the date of the event, which will be too late to get things in the mail.
4. Send e cards. E cards are often free and can be sent right away, no need to advance thought. Remind yourself in your personal calendar to send cards on the applicable dates. However, just like paper cards, you can take schedule a date once a month to send e cards and they will be sent on the date you specify.
5. Gifts can also be sent in advance! Amazon.com will send gift cards in a printed card to the recipient. Lots of places have similar programs. This saves you time, money and you look super thoughtful!
