Summer Camp Must Haves

Lots of kids go off to camp every year and while the fun of summer camp hasn’t changed over the years, some great new products have been invented.  These products can help your child create a home away from home and stay organized while they are there.  Here are a few of my favorites.

This bunk bed mini night table gives your child a place to put their book, book light, water bottle, etc  Camps don’t have enough space for night tables and this helps your child keep things in sight and out of the covers.

This bunk bed organizer is great for camp or college or even home use.  It hangs easily off the rails and allow kids to store all of their small items.  I love it for personal care items like sun block and bug spray or holding things like stationary and batteries.

I’ve talked about Command hooks a lot over the past few years.  They are plastic hooks that can be affixed to just about any surface and then easily taken down with no marks to the wall.  Kids love using them as they are fun to put up.  A few simple hooks, strategically placed can keep items like uniforms, backpacks and robes off the cabin floor.

Everyone has wet clothes in the summer. Having a portable clothes line will help you avoid piles of wet stinky laundry and clothing.  These are also great in your bathroom at home.  Dry clothing out before throwing it in the laundry basket.

Trunks aren’t boring any more!  They now come in all sorts of colors with all sorts of options.  The trunk seen here as a tray in it for smaller items and to keep you organized, even while away from home.

Use clothing dividers and organizers such as this one by Eagle Creek to keep clothes together.  Often your child will simply dump their clothes into a suite case and then again into drawers or their trunk.  Group clothes by category so your child will know exactly how much they have of each item and where it is at all times.

I found all of these products on The Container Store’s website!

I was always clear as to cost and timeline throughout each project, which are both so important to me.
