Spend a Little Get a Lot

April 3, 2013 • Uncategorized

Just as you can do a lot of things to invest money and get a large payback, there are ways you can invest a little time and really help yourself out.  While you may be tired in the evening, and may want to do nothing but catch up on your favorite TV shows, sometimes spending a little time a night can really help out the next day or even the next work week.  Here is a list of things you and your family can do at night to really make the next day a little less stressful.

-Pack your workbag, backpack, etc and put them by the door.

-Review your schedule and make sure you know what commitments you have and when they are.  This is where you should take note of an upcoming bake sale, your day’s meetings, and after school sporting events.

-Pack your lunch and snacks and put them in the fridge so they are ready to go.

-Get your coffee cup out and the coffee pot ready to go.

-Empty the dishwasher so you can easily put in the breakfast dishes.

-Lay out your clothes.

-Put away the living room blankets, pillows, etc.  A neat room is a great way to be greeted in the morning.

-Set your alarm and double check it.

-Make a to do list with the most important things identified.  Sometimes just knowing where to start the day is a big help.

-Make a quick trip to the store for milk or gas or whatever you may need.

These are just a few things you can do to make the week go a little easier…..being prepared and having all family members on the same page sometimes makes a big difference.

There is a saying, “What gets written down gets attended to, and what gets attended to gets done.”

Write down your organizing goals and hold yourself accountable for completing them.

I know it seems like a big chore, but you’ll be glad you did it once you’re done!
