Well every professional organizer will tell you how much they love labelers. My love affair with them started a long time ago when I was a child and the Dymo labeler was a model you had to hand squeeze on each letter. I went around the house labeling all sorts of things like the stove and fridge.
Now that I’m a professional organizer I’ve used lots of different types of labelers and tapes.
Why do I think its important to own a labeler? Labeling things make is clear where they go. If there is a label and no item close to it, you know something wasn’t put away. For family members all working in the same space, such as the kitchen, labels are a great way to communicate where things go.
Labels are great for kids too. They love using the label maker and it helps them learn words and where and hot to put items away.
I love The Container Store’s label maker. It comes in an easy to store and easy to carry case, which ensures you will actually use it!
My qualifications for a good labels maker are as follows:
It must be small enough to be used my adults and children in the family.
It must be easy to read and easy to use. (If its not, you just won’t use it.)
You must be able to find the tape refills easily. If you have to drive to a specialty store to buy refills, you won’t find the time and the label maker will be rendered useless.
So go get a label maker today and start labeling!
