So we all know I’m a bit of a neat freak. And when people found out I was getting a dog, they all wondered how I would handle all the fur that came with the dog. (Especially in the car) Some people rarely have their dog in the car and my dog is in my car at least once a day on the way to a run or park.
Well Solvit’s car seat cover deals with all those doggie issues in the car. The cover affixes to my seat in multiple spots so that it doesn’t move, even my my dog does. It is made of durable, waterproof fabric and has a canvas appearance so it still looks good in my car. I loved the attention to detail on this cover versus others I’ve seen. The buckles that hold it on are brass in appearance, making it pretty and functional. The cover has cut outs so that a seatbelt can be used while the cover is on. (So a human can sit in the back seat as well.) I’ve seen a lot of car seat covers and I’ve even used a few, and by far this is the easiest to use, nicest looking and most durable.
Solvit also sent me their Pet Vehicle Safety Harness. While I thought this was a silly idea at first, I very quickly loved it. The harness goes on to my dog very easily and quickly and doesn’t seem to be uncomfortable at all. The harness allows her to be held in place while I’m driving and yet have freedom to look out the windows and move around. However, I know that she cannot get into my driving space. I also know that in case of an accident, my dog will remain safely in place. While I would love to let my dog roam the car, its not safe for either of us and this harness is the perfect way to allow her to look around and allow me peace of mind.
I have used this car cover for over two years. When it get’s dirty, I take off the hardware, wash it up and put it back on. It is functional, durable and comfortable for my doggie. It looks great in the car too. I couldn’t ask for more and I’ll never use another seat cover.
