Over Door Shoe Organizer

The over the door shoe organizer has always been one of my favorite organizing tools.  Readily available for purchase at lots of places, come in a variety of materials and colors and are inexpensive.  You can use them to organize just about ANYTHING and they use underutilized space on the backs of doors.

Here are a few ways you can use an over the door shoe rack to organize some things you are probably challenge with around the house.

Toys-dolls, Legos, accessories, puzzle pieces, crayons, etc.  You name it, an order the door shoe rack is a great way to get things up off the floor and into organized pouches.  The pockets are easy to use so kids can get involved with putting things away too!

Cleaning products.  So many times we throw our cleaning supplies under the sink and who knows what’s in the back where it is dark and dirty?  This is a great way to know what you have on hand and what you need to purchase.  Things are easy to see and ready to grab when you need them.  This is a good solution so everyone in the house knows where the cleaning supplies are at all time.

Pantries have lots of small items that can get lost on shelves or in cabinets.  An over the door shoe rack is a great place to store mix packets, snacks, spice jars, staples and even canned goods.  Once again this helps with knowing what you have and what you need to purchase on your next trip to the grocery store.

Pet supplies-lots of my clients are unsure where to put their pet supplies.  Using a rack like this keeps everything in one place so you can easily show a dog sitter and you can grab and go as you walk out the door.

I love this ides of using a shoe rack for cups and water bottles.  So many times these become unruly in cabinets and you can never easily find and grab what you need when you’re in a hurry.  This is a great solution!
I do love shoe organizers with clear pockets, like this one (click image to purchase), that allow you to see the contents of the pockets. A clear plastic like this one is also easy to clean.
