SO, how does all of this effect you? Many women feel they have to immediately respond to anything and everything that comes their way. And, while it’s great to connect with old friends, be able to have relationships across the miles and see have casual conversations via text, all of that eats into our time ACTUALLY socializing and spending time with our family members.
Just like any successful organizing strategy, the key is to have a goal and then match it with a plan. Here are a few questions to ask yourself when determining how social media fits into your already busy life.
How much time can you afford to spend on social media?
Does social media make you anxious or happy?
Have you considered deleting your profile because of problems with social media?
Are your “real life” relationships suffering because of your social media use?
Know that social media sites are made to get you to want to check back in as frequently as possible. They are the same as advertising on your favorite television shows. When you are logging on, make sure you have a reason to do instead of just killing time. When you switch sites, makes sure you are paying attention to the fact that you are doing so. It’s easy to go from site to site and before you know it, hours are gone!
