Every month I spend a lot of time trying to find great organizing products for my clients and for you, my readers. So I’m going to try to put together a list of some of my favorites every month. Please tell me if you like the idea and theme!
My first new favorite is StudioOh!’s line of awesome and adorable products that will make you smile while keeping you organized.
Their Make A List notepads, give you plenty of space to write down your to do list, shopping list, ideas, phone numbers and even doodles. You can then, rip the sheet off and take it with you. I love the Oh The Places We’ll Go style 🙂
They also make great mouse pads! They come in lots of styles so click the pad above to see what one’s perfect for you.
Studio Oh! also has some adorable password journals. These spiral bound books allow you to keep track of all of your passwords in one safe location. Organized alphabetically, the book allows you to store websites, usernames, and more. It’s a great way to make sure you never have to reset a password again. I love that it’s small, and discreet. Styles range from black and sophisticated to floral and whimsical. Click the journal below to see them!
For organizing and writing down all those ideas that come to you on the road, use Wellspring Gift’s Auto Notes. Auto Notes are a perfect note pad for notes on the go. The Auto Note features a note pad and mechanical pencil (a pen might dry out on the visor) that clip onto a car visor -works much like a garage door opener. Mechanical pencil take standard lead refills. Each Auto Note measures 5 1/4″ height x 3 3/8″ width. They are available in lots of designs and you can buy refills!
We all have vitamins, pills and daily medications that we need to take. Wellspring’s weekly pill case is a cute and organized way to take them with you!
I also love their pill tote. It’s a small metal tube that attaches to your key chain or tucks safely inside of your purse. It’s perfect for a few pain pills or vitamins on the go. It doesn’t look like a pill container either so it helps you keep your medications safe.
I always tell my clients it’s important to have a notepad with them everywhere they go. Wellspring’s Flip Notes are perfect. The exterior is a decorated metal case. It comes in lots of patterns and variations. The interior pad is perforated and can be replaced when you run out. It always has a pen attached to it and stays closed. These make great gifts for your friends and family as well as teachers and babysitters. It’s the one little notepad you need.
A lot of spaces are unorganized simply because they aren’t functional. More often than not, I hear from clients that they can’t see in the back of their closet or their pantry. So, I looked around to find a light that is easy to attach, easy to use, fits into tight spaces AND is environmentally friendly. I came up with Reliable’s UberLight. The light affixes with a moveable clamp. It’s made up of LEDs that save energy and provide bright, clean light that’s not full of glare and don’t produce heat. This is a winner for a closet or pantry where you don’t have enough light and don’t want to pay an electrician to install a light.
If you’re looking for a book that helps you take organizing to a spiritual level, try Organizing his way by Eileen Koff. Her motto is More Blessings, Less Stuff. It’s a wonderful message and reading this book will help you think about the things you own in a different way than you ever have before. Really determining what we need out of life can help us reduce our clutter. Instead of things, we should focus on blessings and how we can better our lives. It’s a change in thought that will have a big impact on you. Learn more about Eileen and purchase her book on her site.
I really like the concept of the new little gadget I’ve discovered called the MOS, it stands for Magnetic Organization System. It’s a magnetic disc that you place on your desk, (Yes, it sticks to any surface) and then your magnetic cords stick to the top of it. They will never fall behind your desk again. This is great for the iPad or laptop you take with you to and from the office. The system comes with some extra magnetic cable ties incase one of your codes needs a little extra stick. This is a great way to make sure you can find what you need, when you need it. You can even mount this on the wall! It’s stylish too!
If your sink or countertop is cluttered with hair styling products, you should consider the Hot Iron Holster. It is a silicone pocket that affixes to your counter just by pushing down on it (no glue or suction cups). It comes in a variety of colors. It’s heat resistant to 500 degree F. The large pocket holds your hot iron, hair dryer or flat iron when it’s hot or cold. No more looking for a place to put it down or cluttering up your counter space. This is great when you have multiple people who get ready in one space or if you have girls who have lots of styling tools. Get one for everyone in your family and keep everything organized and keep your surfaces clear!
If you live anywhere there is snow in the winter, there is also mud. And if there is mud outside there is mud inside as well as wet boots. Keeping winter footwear organized and keeping your home and floors clean can be as easy as using a boot tray. Get in the habit of taking your boots off when you come in and have your family members do the same. Please them on a boot tray, like this one from YakTrax, and all the snow will melt off and stay in the tray, instead of seeping onto your floors. When the tray gets dirty, you can simply wash it off. (Use a shower head for easy cleaning.) This is an intensive way to keep your home organized and clean this winter.
The next item I’m going to introduce you to is one of my favorite finds this month. Food Huggers are silicone food savers that save you time and money. They are BPA free, microwave safe, freezer safe and even dishwasher safe. All you have to do is wrap them around the food you want to save and it stays fresher longer. This is a great way to reduce the regular waste of plastic bags, sedan wrap or tin foil. It’s also a great way to make sure you can see your leftovers. These can also be used to cover jars or cans. You’re going to want these in every color and size!
