I always talk about maximizing vertical space. A pegboard is a great way to do that. Peggy (with grey accessories) isn’t your grandfather’s peg board. The Peggy board is made by Three by Three, one of my favorite companies for organizing supplies. It’s sleek and sophisticated, but just as functional as you could hope for. This is perfect for a craft space, workshop, entryway or, of course, office. I love the idea of using one of these above your child’s homework space. They will never lose things again. Using a pegboard like this one allows you to keep your work surface clear, but still have tools close by. The sturdy, powder-coated steel construction of this peg-board can hang both vertically or horizontally and comes with plenty of space and fixtures to organize office supplies. Includes peg-board, pen pocket, file pocket, eight peg hooks, two large J hooks and mounting hardware.
It’s well known I’m a huge fan of all things Umbra. This season’s releases are no exception. Using vertical space is key to a good organization system. The Buddy Hooks are an adorable set of hooks that sit on a wall and hold just about anything. I love them for an entry way to hold coats and bags or the inside of a closet to hold belts and scarves. They are great for playrooms, offices and any place you want some hooks, and some whimsy.
Never lose your rings, hair ties or bracelets again. Umbra’s Anigram Elephant Organizer is just what you need. Place items on its trunk OR tail and keep them in sight and to avoid them getting lost. Mr. Elephant is quite cute but he can save your jewelry and your sanity.
I’ve been looking a long time for an organizer that holds jewelry and other small items (like hair ties) easily while travelings. Umbra’s Tanagram Travel Organizer is the best I’ve used. It has four large two small compartments inside. The tab used to close it can double as a hanger when you arrive at your destination. Items are easy to see, easy to grab and easy to put away. It’s a great way to save space when you travel, keep items together and make sure things are protected. I would also use this in my home closet!
If you’re traveling, you’ll love Umbra’s Vanity Organizer. Available in two colors and two sizes it’s just the right size for the essentials. Perfect for a trip, at home organization or the gym, it’s modern and feminine at the same time. Here’s a little more info:
- Versatile cosmetic holder holds various personal items in two compartments
- Top and bottom pouches with zippers
- Encased mirror in bottom pouch
- Two hand straps for travel
- Padded material
Nail polish is notoriously difficult to organize. The Color Clutch solves that. They have two products-a larger box model that’s designed to be used at home and a Color Clutch that’s great for travel. Perfect for smaller collections, or for use as a travel case. Stores 8 bottles and includes a zipper pouch for your manicure tools. Our patent-pending foam technology allows you to store any size or shape nail polish bottle. I love the adorable color and the fact that the case is lightweight. It’s perfect for vacations!
While this book won’t help you organize, it will help you make natural and healthy beauty products. I know I talk about that a lot and how avoiding chemicals can keep you healthier and save you money. This book is filled with easy to make recipes for bath bombs, salts and scrubs. I think it’s a great book to pick up for yourself, but also so you can make gifts! Many of the items inside are inexpensive to make and with the right packaging would be amazing to gift people this coming holiday season. There’s 300 recipes in here so you’re never going to get bored!
Zero Waste Home is a book that will change the way you think, act and buy. Bea Johnson tells you how to reduce waste in your home….and you guessed it, until you get down to nothing. While this may or may not be attainable for your family, the book takes you through some easy to implement steps to reduce not only what you have in your home, but what you consume. I thought I was pretty good at not producing or consuming a lot. After reading this book I know that I can do much better and start reusing more. For example, I take my own bags to the grocery store to bring groceries home. However, in the fruit and vegetable aisle, I’m still using plastic that needs to be disposed of. The book provides lists, recipes for easy to make items and items of what to buy when you absolutely need to. This book a great read for any household who wants to reduce their consumption, make a difference, and save money.
The Power Perch is an awesome way to charge your electronics but keep them off the floor or counter. I love this to charge phones so that you don’t spill on them or drop something on the screen. It gets items out of harms way while they are charging. I also love it toothbrushes in the bathroom. Get those electronics off the sink! It’s white and slim so it will easily fit in small spaces.
Likewise, the Cafe Wall Caddy organizes your kitchen. K-Cups have changed the way we all do coffee. However, organizational tools haven’t caught up with them quite yet. The Cafe Wall Caddy fits around an outlets and holds all of your coffee pods in place. It’s an awesome way to use vertical wall space instead of valuable counter space.
The next item I want to introduce you to is EZStax. They are seemingly simple stack of plastic sheets with strategic tabs on them so that you can stack items, grab ANY of them (even the ones in the middle) and everything stays neat and tidy. This is great for folded clothes…no more digging through the pile and messing it up taking the one in the middle. You can also use these in the office. Filed papers onto them, then stack them up for easy and organized storage. These are an easy and affordable option to get just about anything organized. I also love that they are lightweight…perfect for seniors or kids!
If you’re moving, labeling or just organizing, I suggest you pick up a few sets of Jam Paper’s Circle Label Sticker Seals. These are perfect for color coding, labeling and letting items be seen clearly. Use the stickers on their own to color code or write on them for more details. This is a great system to help kids learn where to put items away or to assist movers in knowing which items go into certain spaces. These are also great for yard sales!
Last but not least Tylt’s new Ribbn charger is the best car charger you can find. Available in four colors and both Micro and Lightening plus, it’s just plain awesome. The cord is flat and long so it doesn’t tangle and it gives you enough breathing room to be able to use your phone. (3 Feet!). It can even charge up to two devices at one time.
