Fall Must Haves

October 21, 2015 • Get To Know, Reviews

A lot of my blog posts are about products I’ve found and tried out for you my readers.  However, this week I wanted to give you a glimpse into what’s in my closet/bag right now.  These are things I’m currently obsessed with.  I use them a LOT…I’m a big multi-tasker…everything in my life needs to work hard…like I do.  If I don’t LOVE something, I don’t buy it.

Fall Must Haves

I love vests.  Fleece vests, puffy vests…you name it, I love em. This one from Patagonia is perfect for a fall hike.  It keeps you core warm, but it weighs next to nothing.  I also love the zip pockets for my phone, dog treats and sunglasses.

Kendra Scott earrings are one of my favorite brands.  They can make even jeans and a tee a little dresser and more sophisticated.  They are also lightweight so you don’t even know you have them on.  This is my newest pair.  They dangle just the right amount.  I found them on ZeeBerry, but they are available lots of places.

I love a funky sweatshirt.  This navy one from J.Crew is soft and cozy, but its side slits and back zipper give is a little more polish.  Add earrings and heels and you look street ready, but you’re still comfy.  They also have it in grey and black (at the time I’m writing this).

I love high heels, but I hate the way they feel.  When booties became popular I was thrilled.  Finally, I can have comfy shoes, that still look cute.  I love all shapes and sizes of boots and booties…and usually transition direction from flip flops into them.  I love a sturdy heel that still allows me to walk (and sometimes run) comfortably, but still looks polished.  My newest pair are these from Cole Haan.  Shhhh, I found them on sale at DSW.

Every girl likes a little lipstick.  However, I will openly admit I’m too lazy to reapply frequently.  Mac’s Pro Longwear lipstick (I love it in Unlimited), stays on and keeps looking good, even through coffee.  It’s affordable too.  I want more colors!

Last but certainly not least, I’m always reading something.  Often, I have a few books going at once…some for business, some for book club and some for fun.  Two of my most recent favorites are as follows:

Smoke is by one of my favorite authors, Catherine McKenzie.  This book is BRAND new and it’s a great read.  Once you start this you won’t be able to stop so order pizza and tell the kids to get themselves dressed.  The book tells the story of a town facing wildfire.  All the drama, danger and emotion that a state of emergency brings are brought to life on the pages.  It’s a book that will not only make you feel like you know these characters, you’ll take part in their victories and devastation at the same time.  The main character is just plain awesome.  She’s her own type of hero…a great role model and leading lady for a story.  Of course, there’s a little love and sparks fly (in more than one sense of the word).  Get this for yourself and read it while you wait for sports practice to finish up or at school pick up.  It’s just plain amazing.

Wreckage isn’t a book I would have picked out on my own.  However, I read it for a book club I’m a part of and it was amazing.  From start to finish, it’s a page turner filled with drama.  I love books like this that are so out of the ordinary you’ve never read anything like them before.  I promise.  This book is so well written that you want to be friends with the characters and their joy and pain becomes your own.  It’s a quick read that you’ll hate to put down.
