You’re Invited to My Planner Party

October 28, 2015 • Paper and Office Organizing

I get a lot of questions about what type of planner I use.  I also get a lot of questions about all of the features, benefits and differences between the masses out there.  I wanted to break them down for you and give you a  few suggestions.

Planner Roundup

Personally, I use a paper planner.  I have tried desperately to use a digital planner, however, without the act of writing something down and having it open on my desk, I seem to miss tasks and forget things.

Blue Sky has some great planners.  I love the unique shape and size of the Ampersand “Dots” Planner.  Bold dot pattern and cursive type add playful style to this functional planner. The Ampersand for Blue Sky 8×5.875 planner is a complete planner in a unique horizontal format. Vertical weekly and monthly calendar views offer an overview of your month and plenty of writing space.  The bright colors, dots and fun shape make it a great planner for every day use.

For a more refined look, try their Senn and Sons Casebound planner. Leatherlike cover and painted dot pattern add modern style to this functional planner. Versatile 5 x 8 pages are book bound with a bookmark ribbon. Weekly and monthly calendar views allow for detailed scheduling and ample writing space.  This is sleek and sophisticated, perfect for a work planner.

The Day Designer with gold of black stripes is quirky, adorable and functional. Organize effectively and in style – this beautiful, functional planner is designed especially for busy women! Wire-o format with paperboard cover and gold foil detail. Features tabbed weekly and monthly calendars with plenty of writing space. A “how-to-use” section, extra notes pages and inspirational quotes help users get the most from the planner.

While this may be a non-traditonal planner, FitBook is just what you need to get and stay healthy.  It’s features include:

  • 12-week goal-setting + reward system with tips + inspiration to keep you motivated and on track
  • weekly planning pages to set goals, plan workouts + meals for the week ahead, and set rewards to motivate you
  • record workouts daily to track progress, including space to record strength training, cardio, classes + flexibility
  • food log to record healthy eats daily with space to jot down meals, macros + emotions, plus trackers for nutrients, vitamins, water + sleep
  • weekly wrap-up pages to reward progress, reflect on your week + journal thoughts and inspiration

Love it?  There’s a version for the kiddies too!

There is a saying, “What gets written down gets attended to, and what gets attended to gets done.”

Write down your organizing goals and hold yourself accountable for completing them.

I know it seems like a big chore, but you’ll be glad you did it once you’re done!
