November’s Favorite Things

November 2, 2015 • Reviews

It’s been a little while since I did a “favorite things” post.  However, I’ve been on the hunt for some amazing Christmas presents and I’ve been scouring lots of websites. Here’s what I’m loving on right now.

Please note I received samples of some of these items in order to be able to write these reviews.  My opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.

November's Favorite Things

Office

Knock Knock consistently comes up with things I love.  These little books are no exception.  Their What I Love About You Fill in the Love™ Journal is a small gift book that you fill out.  It’s the sweetest little gift that’s personalized and so very, very special.  These books are perfect to give in a stocking or just to say I love you.  They come in all kinds of varieties including; Why You’re So Awesome, Why You’re My Bestie, What I Love About Us, What I love About Mom, Dad and Grandma (and more).  I’ve given lots of these books and they inspire happy tears every time.  They are having a special this week….buy any two Fill In The Blank journals and receive free shipping at knockknockstuff.com.  The journal also comes in these other varieities:

  • Why You’re So Awesome: http://knockknockstuff.com/product/why-youre-so-awesome-journal/
  • Why You’re My Bestie: http://knockknockstuff.com/product/why-youre-my-bestie-journal/
  • What I Love about Us: http://knockknockstuff.com/product/what-i-love-about-us-fill-in-the-blank-journal/
  • What I Love about Mom: http://knockknockstuff.com/product/what-i-love-about-mom-journal/
  • What I Love about Dad: http://knockknockstuff.com/product/what-i-love-about-dad-journal/
  • What I Love about Grandma: http://knockknockstuff.com/product/what-i-love-about-grandma-journal/

This may seem silly to you, but I spend a LOT of time in my desk chair.  If it’s not comfortable, I just won’t be as productive.  It’s all about being my best and being cozy at the same time.  I was recently able to try out the Telford II Luxura Manager’s Chair by Staples.  It’s not only comfortable, it’s sturdy and adjustable.  I can make this chair work for me and then my husband can adjust it for himself too.  It looks REALLY high end, but the price tag is quite reasonable.  The assembly didn’t take me very long as all either!

Closet

Every girl needs a great pair of shoes for fall.  I was lucky enough to try out Brian James’ Wedge Pumps. They are the ultimate versatile shoe.  In a brown that goes with everything, they can be dressed up or down.  The 2.5 inch wedge gives you a little “umph” and make you look amazing.  However, they also allow you to be comfortable, even if you’re on your feet all day.  These are comfy, beautiful and a shoe you will go to in your closet over and over again.  (They come in more colors too.)

BuiltNY ToteBuiltNY has been one of my favorite brands for….well let’s say ever.  I love their durable fabric that dries quickly (cause it’s only a matter of time before I spill something), and is lightweight.  We have enough to carry, I don’t want the bag bringing me down!  The City Tote tote bag is not only adorable (I love the fun, bright patterns!), it’s super functional.  It’s made from neoprene and the straps are made of faux leather.  You can machine wash this and when it’s not in use, it stores completely flat.  There are even pockets inside for keys or your phone.  This is a winning bag you’ll want to grab over and over again.

Kitchen

Portland Mug My love of coffee is no secret.  People who love coffee also love mugs.  This new mug from Uncommon Green is no exception.  The glass mug holds 13 ounces (no tiny cups of coffee here!), and is etched with the streets of Portland, Maine.  This makes a perfect clutter free gift (useful and beautiful). If you don’t want to use it as a mug, it makes a great pencil or office supply holder too.  There are lots of cities to choose from (Seattle, New Orleans, Providence, Nashville and more).  They also have bar ware!

Spices are one of my very favorite things all year round.  They make cooking a little more fun and they are consumable.  I love to give them as gifts and I’m always restocking my pantry with new items.  Raw Spice Bar has combined all of the things I love in their spice of the month club.  For just $6 (at the time I’m writing this), you get a variety of ethnically diverse spices delivered to your door every month.  I love this idea because it allows you to try new things, without spending a lot of money.  You also don’t end up with things you don’t like cluttering up your spice drawer.  These make great hostess or newlywed gifts too!

Bathroom

Every year, I fight a bad cold.  Most of us do.  Being self-employed, I don’t have sick days.  I really can’t take any time off.  So, when I get sick, I need to get better as quickly as possible.  I swear by Boiron’s Oscillococcinum.  It’s a homeopathic medicine that shortens the symptoms that come with a cold or the flu. Keep some on hand so you’re ready when illness strikes.

Pets

I’ve been using a FURminator dog brushing tool for years.  It does the best job of anything else I’ve found on taking out the dead hair and decreasing shedding.  When I found out they were launching a new tool I had to check it out. The FURminator with comfort Edge conforms to your pet’s build and shape.  It makes it a little more comfortable for your pup too.  This works on both long and short haired dogs and it comes in various sizes to fit your doggie.  Not only does this remove hair before it’s all over your floor, it stimulates natural oil production for healthier skin and a shinier coat.
