I love my dogs. I’m pretty sure you’re all sick of hearing about them by now. However, this month I wanted to bring you some info that is going to help you out this holiday season.

PetSmart® now offers grooming. You probably have a PetSmart near you and you might even go there already to buy your food, treats or toys. Their grooming solutions are affordable, convenient, and just plain awesome.
I dropped off my dog Summit for full service grooming. I made the appointment online. (I love not having to make a phone call!) They sent me a reminder email AND a text. How awesome is that? When I dropped Summit off they did a quick inspection of him and asked me a few simple questions. They wanted to make sure they he didn’t have any open cuts or any issues they should know about.
I did have to bring proof of rabies vaccination. I made a copy of what I had from my vet.
Once we dropped Summit off I was told it would be about three hours. He was getting a bath, Furmination, an ear cleaning, nail clipping and tooth brushing. I was a little fearful of how my dog wold react. He doesn’t spend a lot of time with strangers and he is a little anxious about being groomed. (He’s a rescue and is afraid of most people.) They led him away on the leash and once he was out of my sight, he trotted along happily with the groomer.
When I came back, they presented me with a “report card”. The report card told me the condition of his nails, ears, teeth and skin. (They were all great which I was THRILLED about since I’ve always done the grooming myself.) They also said he was well behaved dog and loved giving kisses. I was more thrilled about this!
Summit is super timid. I was fearful of how he would react to being with strangers and having them touch him. He was calm and relaxed and although he was happy to see us at pickup, he was loving on the groomers! They had an amazing way with him that put him at ease.
I shopped around the store when I went to pick Summit up and I found some awesome Halloween and Christmas themed treats. (Perfect for gift giving!). Overall the process took about three hours and cost about $70. I was thrilled with how handsome and soft he was when I picked him up. I also wondered why I’d been doing my own grooming all of these years!
One of the things I really love about the service is that you can book online! It’s super easy and you don’t even have to get out of your pajamas. Book your service here.
