My doggies have been wanting to write a blog post for a long time. I’ve told them that they can’t spell, but they insisted anyway…here goes…
Every morning our mom takes us outside. We just want to play and chase the chipmunks but she stands there and looks at us as if she’s waiting for something. Eventually we go back inside and she makes herself this potent beverage. She smiles when she drinks it and calls it “coffee”. She always offers us some and when we look away, she laughs.
She sits down in front of this grey box that lights up and hits little buttons over and over again. We try to knock it off the desk or off her lap and she pushes us away saying she’s “working”. Working is our least favorite. It means we have to sit quietly and amuse ourselves. She doesn’t even like it when we bring her squeaky toys and try to squeak them as loud as possible.
There’s a bird feeder outside the window that mom fills every day so the birds come and visit. The best part is the chipmunks that eat the bird seed that falls on the ground. My brother doesn’t care about them, but I REALLY want to make friends with one and bring it inside. I try to get out through the window sometimes, but I’ve never had any luck. I did catch a chipmunk once in my mouth and I was in the process of bringing it inside to play with and my mom screamed so loud the neighbors heard her. I let him go.
Sometimes if we bug mom enough she’ll give us a treat from the jar on her desk. If we bug mum enough that she has a hard time working, she’ll tell us about other dogs who have owners that leave them home alone all day while they go out to an office to work. Then we realize we’re lucky she’s home with us.
Our patience pays off when she finally offers to take us for a “walk”. My brother and I race to the car. I’m not sure what takes mom so long to get there.
Overall our days are filled with snuggles and love, and lots of toys. We were both rescued and our lives are so much happier now that we’re home with our forever family and mom is a sucker for our puppy eyes and licks.
