Most of us head to the salon or the barber before the holidays. We want to look and feel our best when we visit with friends and family, so we pamper ourselves. Families head to the mall to pick out matching outfits and even the kids get their hair cut. So why would you leave out your pets?

I had my deaf dog Summit groomed. I dropped him off the the groomer checked him out all over and asked me for a copy of his rabies paperwork (make sure to bring this with you!). He was chatting with Summit and letting Summit sniff his hands so that he would be comfortable during the grooming. I demonstrated the sign for “good boy” to the groomer so he’d be able to communicate with Summit.
A few hours later Summit appeared fresh, clean and so very, very soft. He was happy and looked amazing. I was able to run errands and stock up on all of my pet care needs while he was groomed. It was a great use of my time.
My mom has allergies and having my dogs clean and fresh from the groomers helps with her allergies. This is true for a lot of people. If you’re having a guests over during the holidays, having your dogs groomed ahead of time will help those will allergies make it through the party.
When guests are greeting your dogs, don’t you want them to look their best too? A dog that’s clean and soft is much more fun to play with than a dog who has been out in the mud. Clean pets also help you keep your home clean, which is already challenging to do during the holiday season. If you’re taking family pictures for holiday cards, take your pup to be groomed before hand!
While Summit was being groomed they washed him, FURminated him, cleaned his ears, teeth and even cut his claws. I saved a lot of time (and frustration) by having this all done by a professional!
