Americans spent a record $370 million last year on Halloween costumes for pets, according to the National Retail Federation. That’s a whopping 40 percent more than what we spent on our pets just 2-3 years ago.
For 2013, Pet Expert and Stylist, Jorge Bendersky predicts hat more than 15% of people will put a costume on their pet.

1. Don’t ever leave your dog unattended with their costume on.
Hoops and loops can get them tangled up.
2. Be sure to remove all the bows and clips that you put on - as they can be easily chewed and swallowed.
3. Is your dog wearing some color? Wipe it off before your dog goes to bed.
4. Kids leave chocolate on the floor and in the street. Make sure your dog doesn’t find it or you will be in for a deadly trick instead of a treat.
5. Be careful when approaching your neighbors, your dog may not recognize the scary costumes!
