Paderno Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer ~ A Review

September 4, 2014 • Kitchen Organization, Recipes, Reviews

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be difficult. If you have the right tool (not a lot of tools) on hand you can whip up a healthy meal for your family in no time. I was lucky enough to be sent a Paderno Spiral Vegetable Slicer to try out. (My opinions were not influenced in any way and if I didn’t like this item, I would not be sharing it with you.)

The spiral slicer looks a little complex. However, it’s super easy to use. Simply, place the vegetable or fruit on the prongs, and turn the wheel. The Vegetable moves towards the blade and depending on the blade you’ve inserted, creates spiral slices. This is an amazing way to make vegetable pasta, make salads and make food just a little more fun for kids to eat. It’s really easy to clean too. If you wash it right away, just use a little soap and water and it comes completely clean.

The slicer comes with 3 blades; 1/8 inch spacing, 1/4 inch spacing and a straight blade (for ribbon cuts). The tool is made of plastic and medal. It’s durable and light weight. (So you can keep it on a shelf and not worry about hauling it down.)

Some of my favorite things that I made are zucchini pasta and spiral slice “fries”. Zucchini pasta is simply cut with the spiral slicer and then warmed up on a skillet. Top with marinara sauce and parmesan cheese and it’s an amazing, vegetarian friendly and super healthy meal that takes less than 20 minutes to put together.

For the sweet potato fries: Just use the spiral slicer to cut the fries, sprinkle with salt and bake until crisp. Healthy and kids love them!

You can order the Paderno Slicer on Amazon.
