Want a dessert that’s easy to make and that EVERYONE will love? I’m calling this easy apple cake and it takes just a few minutes to prepare, a little while in the oven and then you have an amazing fall dessert ready to eat!
This is so easy that you can involve the kids! It’s not a picture perfect dessert and you really can’t go wrong if you want to play with the ingredients a little bit.
Here’s what I put in:
6 large apples-Use whatever variety you like the best. I picked out some of the bruised ones that weren’t otherwise great for eating. You can peel them or leave the skins on.
1 box yellow or vanilla cake mix
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
BUTTER (Yeah, the real thing) Melted-one stick or more to taste
Start with a glass pan and if you want, spray it with a little non stick cooking spray.
Then, layer the apples, sugar, cinnamon and the cake mix. You don’t have to use the whole box if you don’t want to. Then, pour on the melted butter.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. It may need more time, but 20 minutes is a great time to check on it!
Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
Cut and EAT and I dare you to try and have leftovers. This is also an awesome dessert prepare ahead of time, pop into the fridge and then cook at the last minute before guests arrive.
This is also a great dessert for a school night, to bring to a pot luck or for a bake sale!
