From time to time we all need a little diet refresh. If you’re like me, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut and get the same things over and over again and make the same meals week after week. So, I set out to find some new options for you, and to share a few of my all time favorites. Have something you LOVE? Share it with us in the comment below!
Eating organic is good for you. Everyone knows what. BUT did you know that eating organic can help the environment? Earthbound Farm’s organic foods make it easy to keep both you and the Earth healthy. Their foods are grown via sustainable methods, without irradiation, toxic chemicals or GMOS. The best part is they are affordable, and available your local grocery store, making it easier and more attainable to treat your family to healthy food. I love their Zen salad mix. I add walnuts, some cucumber, sometimes some grapes and it’s an AMAZING salad! Check out all their product offerings.
So this is an unlikely find, but it’s so awesome I had to share…Homesweet Homegrown is a line of hot sauces made with ingredients the husband and wife team actually grow themselves. They use no pesticides or chemical fertilizers as well as organic paper mulch. Not only do they do all of this BEFORE the product gets to you, they also convert GMO-cornfields to organic pepper fields. Oh and it’s AWESOME hot sauce…perfect to add a little zing to anything! My favorite is the Orange Crush flavor 🙂
I love flavored water. However, I don’t love the chemicals that are usually in those flavor additives. SweetLeaf Water Drops come in four flavors (Raspberry Lemonade, Peach Mango, Lemon Lime and Strawberry Kiwi) and have no calories. More importantly, they have no gluten, no sugar and no artificial ingredients. I love that you can take this little bottle anywhere and flavor on the go! I’m so much more likely to drink my daily quota of water if it tastes good 🙂
To go along with the flavoring, I want to remind you the importance of drinking enough water. I’m terrible at it myself. I have a slew of water bottles and I love them all for different reasons. I love this one from Reduce because it’s large enough to hold 40 ounces of water. I can fill it up, bring it to my desk and fill my glass from there. It’s clear too so I completely understand how much I still need to drink. It’s also BPA free and dishwasher safe.
Want to be as healthy as you can be? Grow your own veggies! It’s easier than you think with Grow Journey. It’s a subscription service for the gardener! Every month you’ll receive five packets of heirloom seeds delivered to your door. Use them to grow herbs and veggies that your family can eat. This is a great way to try out your green thumb and to have some variety in your garden! The seeds can even be planted in containers if you lack on space. I love this idea. A healthier you and a healthier planet!
If you’re looking for new “super foods” to try, give Kuli Kuli’s Moringa a shot. Gluten free, vegan and raw, it’s a plant that contains a complete protein, iron, calcium and vitamins. Sounds pretty super to me! Add the powder to your morning smoothie or bake it into a recipe. If you want moringa on the go, they Kuli Kuli’s moringa snack bars. They are a great mid afternoon pick me up for me:) I love Crunchy Almond Flavor.
One of the best ways to eat clean? Make sure your food is actually clean! Eat.Cleaner’s wash and on the go wipes allow you to clean your fruits, veggies and anything else that comes into contact with your mouth easily, quickly and effectively. According to their website, it’s 99% more effective than just water. I love it because I can’t always get to a sink, but I can toss one of these wipes in my lunch bag and wash fruit anywhere…even at the airport! The wash is biodegradable, alcohol and chlorine free. And while these are awesome for food, they also rock for lots of other tasks; cleaning your phone, silverware at a restaurant, pacifiers, the steering wheel and so on. Keep the bottle at home and use the wipes on the go!
If you’re looking for a great juice cleanse or just an awesome way to have cold pressed juice every day, check out Project Juice. They offer a wide array of juices that can be delivered to your door. Right now, shipping is free too! I received a cleanse pack and it arrived cold and quick. Each bottle was labeled with a number and there was a sheet explaining the times to consume each juice. I was shocked at how full I felt all day and how amazing these juices tasted. When looking at the ingredients and nutrition facts, I was also thrilled to find I was getting real ingredients and protein! I felt great at the end of the day and would happily do it again. However, I’d love to pick and choose which juices arrive too. They have that option available and there are even seasonal choices! (Right now strawberry chia is available.) Treat yourself to some Project Juice!
I love chia and flax seeds. However, eating them on the go is just plain difficult. Carrington Farm’s ready to go packs are perfect for healthy eating on the go. Packed in a portable and convenient single serve packet with a pre-measured daily dosage. With no refrigeration necessary, ready-to-eat Flax Chia Paks can be used at restaurants, airports, hotels, and even at home. Sprinkle on smoothies, ice cream, and other foods for a simple and healthy Flax experience.
