My Morning Routine

September 18, 2016 • Pets

As you all know by now, I just moved. I have been working to establish new routines and organizational systems in my new home. While my life is basically the same (two dogs, hubby, and self employed), everything has seemed topsy turvy since the move. I’ve been working to maintain structure and feel in control once again. Here are a few of the things I’ve recently done to make life go just a little more smoothly.

Milk Bone sent me some samples in order to try out their new Good Morning Daily Vitamins. My opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.

  1. Make coffee. Okay so I used to do this before my move. However, now it’s the official start to my morning. I let the dogs outside and then head over to my coffee station to put together my favorite brew. Right now, it’s pumpkin coffee. I love having all of my supplies and mugs in one area. My dogs now have a fenced in yard so they can play outside in the morning on their own for a little while. I love taking my coffee out and watching them frolic in the grass.
  2. Treat the dogs. Give my dogs Milk Bone Morning Treats. They love these treats first thing in the morning and act as if I’ve made their whole day. They have no idea it’s really like a vitamin and they are good for them. There are three varieties. You can see them here. I take my own vitamins at the same time. It’s a great way to ensure the whole family starts the day healthy!
  3. Check on dinner. I check the meal plan I write up at the beginning of the week and ensure that I have the ingredients on hand, the prep work done, or the items defrosted. It takes just a few seconds and ensures the dinner process will go much more smoothly.
  4. Smiles and snuggles. While I’m always anxious to get the day going and to start crossing off my to do list tasks, I always take the time to make sure everyone in the house knows it’s going to be a good day. A few snuggles and smiles for humans and four legged friends, goes a long way.

There is a saying, “What gets written down gets attended to, and what gets attended to gets done.”

Write down your organizing goals and hold yourself accountable for completing them.

I know it seems like a big chore, but you’ll be glad you did it once you’re done!
