Dog Safety On The Go

As you ALL know, I have two very active border collies. They are always on the go, and always racing around. It’s part of who they are and what makes them happy. However, as a dog parent, it’s not always easy to let them roam freely, especially when we’re traveling. I always worry they might see a wild animal, or just hear something that scares them, and run for the hills.

Last summer I really started to worry about keeping my doggies safe wherever we may travel. I did a lot of research and found the Pet Safe’s Stay and Play Wireless Fence . It functions just like those super expensive electric fences you can have installed, however, it’s PORTABLE.

Here’s how it works….you set up the base so that you have a predetermined “safe zone” for the doggies. The system sets up in about 1-2 hours. The system covers up to 3/4 an acre (210 feet in diameter).

The collars have 5 adjustable levels of static correction. You’ll have to work with your pups to train them on the system. I did this and they learned their boundaries within about an hour of the system working in our yard. There is a warning beep before the correction and for most dogs, this is all they need.

The collars fit dogs 5 pounds and up with necks 6-28 inches. They are waterproof and recharge in just 2-3 hours (I charge mine overnight). You can add more collars to the system for more dogs too! I keep an extra collar on hand for when I’m doggie sitting and I know everyone is safe and secure.

Ok, so not only do you save money with this system, and you keep your pets safe…it’s totally portable. So, when we travel to Maine in the summer months, I pick the system up, and take it with us. I use the same flags, remind my dogs the system is in place, and then we’re safe there as well. It’s the perfect way to have peace of mind and safe doggies, no matter how far from home you go.
