Be Your Best Self

Don’t wait for the new year. Now is the time to reflect on what we can do to be better, make our lives better and change our ways. There is no reason you need to wait until the calendar says so to make changes. Right now, I want to direct your attention to the whole picture. Instead of setting a goal, such as lose five pounds, set an intention to live with more purpose. While specific goals work for some people, they are often disheartening when they are not met. Here are just a few thoughts and ideas to get you thinking about living with more purpose and direction.

-Keep Promises to Yourself-If you say you are going to do something for yourself, make it happen. This can be as simple as a quick workout, putting on makeup or going for a workout.

-Be gentle with yourself.

-Do acts of kindness.

-Be proactive. Change, I will try to I will find time. Change I don’t know, to I will find out.

-When you begin a project, think of the end result. If you are organizing a closet, think about getting out of the house in the mornings with ease and time to spare. If you are making a puzzle, you look at the finished picture to figure out where you are going.

-In your relationships; be loyal, listen and say you’re sorry.

-7% of listening is words, 40% is the tone or feeling and 53% is body language.

-Celebrate diversity.

-Feed your body, brain, heart AND soul. All are important pieces of the puzzle.

-Tap into your talents.

-Renew yourself.

-Sharpen your mind by doing things like gardening, traveling, visiting a library, going to a museum or crossword puzzles.

-Visit Nature as often as you can.

-Be silly and ENJOY!

There is a saying, “What gets written down gets attended to, and what gets attended to gets done.”

Write down your organizing goals and hold yourself accountable for completing them.

I know it seems like a big chore, but you’ll be glad you did it once you’re done!
