Vitamin and Pill Organization

Organizing pills and vitamins isn’t something you probably think about too much. However, coming up with a system and sticking to it can really save you time and frustration every day. Here’s the system I use personally and why it work for me.

First, I have a small plastic tote with a lid that snaps on. I keep this under my bed so I can slide it out and access it easily and quickly. If you had kids crawling or toddling around your room, this wouldn’t be a great storage spot. However, my dogs aren’t talented enough to unsnap the lid so it works for me. The tote is clear so I can see what I have inside and because it seals moisture is kept out.

I have two pill containers. They are large and each one holds seven days of pills. However, the compartments meant for day and night are so large that I use each one as a full day. So, two containers really hold four weeks, or one month of pills. Although I bought these pill containers a few years ago, The Container Store still sells them. Click the picture below to purchase.

Vitamin Org StepsOnce you have the correct containers, it’s time to just sit down and fill the compartments. I open both pill containers and then, one bottle, at a time, put the daily dosage into the compartments. It does take a little while. However, I do take a lot of vitamins and I know they are laid out for me, a month at a time. I save time every day by having my pills ready to take.

In order to keep things contained at all time, I use binder elastics to keep the pill containers closed. You can find these at an office supply store for just a few dollars. They are also great for traveling.
