Spring Clean Your Mind

  1. Clean out your address book. Most of us never do this and it’s filled with people we don’t speak to anymore. Do the same with your Facebook friends, and cell phone.
  2. Teach your dog one new trick. They will thank you for the extra attention.
  3. Meditate for 5 minutes a day for one week. You’ll feel so good you’ll want to find time every day.
  4. Do a ten minute tidy with your family every day. Have everyone participate and you’ll accumulate hours of cleaning and organizing without knowing it.
  5. Prepare meals in advance. If you can’t plan a whole week, plan a few days at a time. Start using the crockpot, and casseroles and frozen meals to give yourself a break at the end of the day.
  6. Outsource one thing.
  7. Don’t check your personal email every day. You’ll get get wrapped up in the details, surfing the web and checking work stuff at home. Spend some time away from the computer.
  8. Schedule screen free time, once a week with the family. IT could be as short as ten minutes, but it’s important. Try not to use screens during meals, meetings and family time. First person to pull out their phone has to do an extra chore.
  9. Skype with a friend you haven’t seen in ages. You’ll be glad you did.
  10. Create a spot just for you. It doesn’t have to be large. It could be a cushion with a candle in front of it, a yoga mat on the floor or even a chair in the backyard. Use a screen to divide a room if you don’t have a lot of space to work with.
