Pro Tip: Label Your Hangers

This tip is SO simple and easy, yet it really changes the way you or your kids get ready in the morning. First of all, this tip is based on using wooden hangers. I recommend wooden hangers because they allow your clothes to hang nicely, without wrinkling. They also give your closet an upscale look, without the upscale cost. Finally, they prevent you from over stuffing the closet FULL of clothes.

So how can labeling your hangers help you? Read on…

On the top you see a plain hanger…..it allows you to hang clothes, but really doesn’t tell you anything else.

In the middle of the image above you have a hanger with a name on it. (I created that with my Silhouette Portrait) By putting a name on the hanger you know exactly who the clothes belong to. While this may not be a big deal for adults, it would allow you to hang multiples kids’ outfits in one place and they would know which one was theirs. Have your kids collect their clothes from the laundry room in this manner. This is also great for items you may have multiples of such as sports or school uniforms.

On the bottom of the image you can see a hanger labeled with my label maker. I typed out a day of the week. This is great for kids. Label hangers Monday through Friday and decide ahead of time what they will wear to school each day. This saves time in the morning. As a bonus, add on any other uniforms that they will need for practice on specific days of the week. Adults can do this too! Decide what you’re going to wear, wash it and iron it and hang it up, ready to go.

If you don’t have a vinyl cutting machine or label maker, you can just use permanent markers. This is an easy, quick and super cheap tip that can really save you time and energy every single morning!
