Please note I received samples of some of these items to test them out and write these reviews. My opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.
Find the right sports bra for your activity, size and shape isn’t always easy. Add style and comfort into the mix and you have a tough puzzle to solve. I asked some experts to share their tips and favorites with us and here is what we received!
According to City Sports 80% of all women are wearing the wrong bra size! Here’s what they say about it:
“We find that many women are wearing the wrong sports bra namely because the true needs of one are never discussed. The best questions to ask yourself are: “What activities interest me most?” “How do I want to look and feel in a sports bra?” If these questions can be honestly answered, the process of finding the right sports bra will be easier. Taking the time to really understand what is desired will find the right fit – after all, the sports bra is closest to a woman’s heart!”
What are the most common mistakes women make when purchasing a sports bra?
“The most common mistakes women make when purchasing a sports bra can be summarized in two points: (1) all brands of sport bras fit the same and (2) sport bras sizing and feel are similar to a regular bra. “
Here’s what Alysia Montaño (Women’s USA 800m 5 time Champion | World Bronze Medalist | American Record Holder) has to say:
“For me being comfortable during my workouts is very important. Having the right shoes, the right shorts and of course the right bra are big factors. When I take on the track or a trail I want to be focused on the task at hand and not constantly fidgeting or adjusting so I can get the most out of my workout physically and mentally. “
My favorite sports bra right now is the Asics Versatility Seamless bra its super comfortable, very breathable and reversible so you can switch up the colors.
On a personal note, I was able to try this bra out…I’m not a professional runner so I have a different perspective

It was very comfortable. It didn’t squeeze like a lot of sports bras do. It also didn’t pull on my shoulders. Overall I was impressed. I wore it for a full day doing chores, working in the office and finally, heading out for a run. It was comfy and even when I worked up a sweat, stayed dry. The mesh inside really wicked away moisture and even after my run, I dried off pretty quickly. I love the fun colors this comes in too. And for $38, it’s a deal!
Coeur is a new and vivacious new women’s brand designed to help you tri, run, and bike in style and comfort. I tried their Checkmate Sports Bra. It’s made of wicking material so you stay dry. It keeps you in place and stops bouncing but does not squeeze you uncomfortably. This is a great multi purpose bra that can take you from running to spin to yoga. The straps stay in place and the pattern is adorable! It’s UPF 50 and antimicrobial so it won’t stink. It’s super reasonably priced too!
Coeur also has some amazing
headbands….they can be worn thin or wide and they are made of wicking material. No more sweat in your eyes with these babies! I love the fun patterns that make you feel like you’re going out instead of working out. They’re less than $10 too. I have the red one and I get compliments every time I wear it. It’s been to yoga, spin and running with me and it keeps my super think and long hair from getting in my eyes with no trouble at all. A winner for sure.
If you are a runner or hiker and just can’t seem to carry everything you need, check out the
Joey Sports Bra. It’s a regular sports bra that features two zippered and water-resistant pockets to hold your goodies! While it’s not big enough to hold a phone, it can hold chap stick, keys, an ID, credit card or a energy gel pack. I thought that I would notice the zippers while running, but they were perfectly comfortable…I did wear a tank over it. My items that were inside weren’t damp at all. The bra itself was comfortable. What I really liked was that it wasn’t obvious to any one else where my valuables were stored. This would be great for travel too!
Again, this is NOT a sports bra, but will help you stay active.
Dr. Segal’s compression socks are not the traditional white stockings you have in your mind. These socks come in some adorable colors and patterns and you’ll actually WANT to wear them. They are awesome for everything from running to travel and they help increase circulation. Therefore they help reduce soreness after long workout, keep your feet fresh if you’re standing all day and they reduce swelling. These are a great gift to yourself or a loved one (clutter free!) and you’ll look so cute no one will know you’re taking care of yourself!
