Valentine’s Day is almost here. But there’s still time to make your special someone something special.
Be Mine, a book from Chronicle Book is full of fun inspiration and easy to create crafts. I picked one to share with you here.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Twine
A wooden dowel or a decorative straw (I used a straw)
Scissors or an Exacto knife and cutting mat
Glue Stick
The first thing you’re going to do is head to www.chroniclebooks.com/bemine. This craft is one of many from their book, entitled, Be Mine. It’s an adorable book that will keep you and the kids busy on all of those rainy days and cold winter months. While they are Valentine’s Day themed, they are great any day of the year to tell someone you love them.
Once you head to www.chroniclebooks.com/bemine, you’ll be able to download this template. This particular project actually has three options; each says I love you in a different language. I picked French. Once you’ve printed it, cut along the black lines. Here’s what it will look like.
Next, fold over the top and wrap the straw in the paper. I did this a few times to get a good clean fold. Then use the glue stick to secure the paper around the straw. You could also use tape.
Finally, add the twine around the straw. This takes a little bit of balance and manipulation. I made a loop with the twine, THEN wrapped it around the straw and pulled it tight. Overall, this project takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. It’s easy and the finished project is adorable!
