Planning a wedding is hard. It takes a lot of preparation, determination and sometimes, just plain hard work. Here are a few tips to save you time, money and frustration.
- Make a master list. Write down everything you want to do for your wedding. Give yourself this time to DREAM. Make notes, cut out photos and Pin up a storm. This is just the start. Don’t be afraid to go wild at this stage.
- Use a binder to hold all of your paperwork. You will have receipts, contracts and photos from your
various vendors. Use a three ring binder filled with page protectors to house them. That way the papers will be protected, ready to be accessed and still completely viewable.
- Determine what will fit into your budget. What things are MUST haves and what are dream items? Start obtaining quotes and determining what you can honestly make happen without bankrupting yourself.
- Search for deals. Finding deals and coupons for weddings isn’t always easy. However, if you are willing to put in some elbow grease you can save a ton of money. There are so many tutorials and DIY options available that you will be able to create much more than you think, at a fraction of the cost.
5. There are also lots of budget options that don’t look like budget options. For example, Bloominous sends you florist quality flowers, without the extreme markup. They arrive at your door and you assemble them. Easy, high quality AND it will work within your budget.
- 6. Delegate tasks. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Your bridesmaids, your parents and even co-workers will most likely be more than willing to help you make your visions for your special day come true. For example, have a party with your girl friends to assemble favors. Host a cocktail night to create a signature drink. It’s all about having fun while checking things off your list.
An organized and stress free wedding isn’t as difficult as it sounds. It’s all about determining what you want, what you can afford, what needs to be done and then, of course, making it happen. I like to write down deadlines for the small tasks on a calendar to make sure nothing falls between the cracks.
