Subscription Box Roundup-Part Two

April 18, 2015 • Gift Giving Tips, Reviews

I have done a previous post on subscription boxes and I received a lot of questions and comments on it.  I wanted to do it again for you. I love subscription boxes.  Of course, they can become clutter delivery services if you don’t pick wisely. SO, I’ve tested and picked a few of my favorites to share with you.

Please note I received samples of some of these items in order to be able to write these reviews.  All opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way.

This post focuses on boxes fit for gifting….for kids, ladies, even the “geek” in your life.  It’s all about finding the right fit!  Some of my favorites are the pet boxes at the bottom!

Subscription Box Roundup Part Two

Kid’s Boxes

There are a lot of boxes out there full of kids stuff.  However, Cooper and Kid has a unique twist. It’s a box Cooper and Kiddesigned for dads to do with their kids.  The box is FULL of themed activities.  I was shocked at the quantity of what’s inside.  The box I received was themed “magic”.  Even the box was printed with a wizardry theme and can be colored in as an activity.  The box included everything from magic experiments, a book, a wand, a map of where to start, recipes..and lots more.  Oh and even the batteries needed were included!  While this box is designed to make dads an instant hero, it would be awesome for moms, or even baby sitters.  This activities in this box will take months to do!  (Perfect for those long winter months!)

Happy Trunk is a box of creativity delivered to your door.  While the contents are fairly simple art supplies, they are delivered in a way that inspires a theme, a project and a whole LOT of fun.  This box is perfect to stash away and bring out on a rainy day, for a sleep over or for a special day.  I love the idea of grandparents getting this to do when they have their loved ones over.  The box I received was designed to help you create an interactive aquarium!

Themed Boxes

Who wouldn’t want some bliss shipped to their door every month?  Hello Bliss Box is a collection of items that will pamper you, make you smile and just fill you with delight.  These are adorable items that you will open right away and start using in minutes.  One of the bracelets in my box was on my wrist within a few minutes of the box’s arrival.  This is a great gift for yourself.  Treat yourself to some pampering every single month.  It’s a great way to gift yourself for all the hard work you do. Oh and you’ll want to get one for your friends as well 🙂

This next box is really unique.  It’s called Charleston Epicurean and it’s filled with lots of treasures and treats from…you guessed it, Charleston!  I was shocked at the variety and uniqueness of the items in the box.  There was a palmetto flower, hand made soap, a candle in a recycle wine bottle and other items equally as astonishing.  This is the perfect gift for the person who has it all!  Every month is a surprise and a delight!

If you have a loved geek in your life, or a teenager, Geek Fuel is just what you’re looking for.  Every month Geek Fuelthey pick out a smattering of pretty darn awesome stuff related to cult favorites like Star Wars, Dr. Who and even video games.  I love this as it’s full of fun things that everyone can enjoy.  Teenagers are notoriously hard to shop for, and this is a winner every time.

If you are or know a yoga lover, BuddhiBox is for you.  Every item is curated practicing saucha principles.  Most items are vegan or vegetarian.  Items are designed to help you develop your yoga practice or enhance your yoga lifestyle.  I was shocked at how amazing the products in my box were; yoga mat spray, tea, a yoga bag, and more!!  This makes an amazing gift for yourself or another yogi 🙂

ScentbirdFor the lady in your life, check out Scentbird.  For $14.95 a month you will be sent a tube of a new perfume.  You’ll never get tired of one large bottle again!  I love that this is so unique! The tube is portable and can fit into a purse.  It’s also awesome for travel.  They even have a great quiz for you to take to help you make the perfect selection.

Love wine?  Yeah, me too 🙂  The California Wine Club is an amazing subscription box.  Every month a red Wineand a while wine arrive at your door.  I’m TERRIBLE at picking out wine, but I love trying new things. This takes the guess work out of it for me and every month, I can treat myself to something new.  They have different “levels” available with different types of wine from different regions too!

Pet Boxes

With all of the amazing subscription boxes, I don’t want to leave your furry family out.  PupJoy is the ultimate in pet subscription boxes.  Not only can you customize the box the way you like it (treats, toys or a combo), you can have multiple pup boxes!   I received a box and it smelled so good, my doggies were pawing to get into it.  There were two full size bags of treats, a leash, a collar and a toy my dogs promptly decided to play tug with. What I love about this box is that the treats are wholesome and made in the USA.  It’s not filled with cheap treats you don’t want to feed your furry one.  Your dogs will love this.  Oh and you will too.

Your feline family shouldn’t be forgotten!  KitNipBox is a subscription box designed just for them.  It’s filled with awesome toys and treats that your cats will love.  There were toys in the box i received that I’d never seen before.  I was surprised at the quality and quantity.  This will keep cats amused for a while!  A great treat for everyone in the family.

I’ve never seen such creative and unique pet products as the ones that arrived in the Paw Pack I received.  My dogs were pawing at the box before I opened it!  There were some well known items, such as a Whimzee, and lesser known items such as organic tooth cleaning toys.  The box was themed for Pet Dental Month….which is awesome as it’s something many pet owners over look and find difficult to fit into their routine.  I love the fun in a new set of toys and treats arriving every month!  (My dogs do too.)

Paw Pack

Yoga Surprise, is as they call it, “a yoga retreat in a box”.  Each box has a theme.  Some past themes are gratitude, compassion and love yourself.  This box has shocking value.  The items are often full size and they are items you will be delighted to open up and use.  The box I received had a mini clutch, a CD, a massage ball and other items.  Just one of these items would have cost over $20 to purchase on its own.  This box is a great reminder for me to take care of myself, even when I’m busy.
