I love tote bags. A little too much. It’s something I have a lot of. I do use them. However, I wanted to see if I could create something special from a plain tote bag I bought online. I got it for about $3 from Amazon. This is a technique I’ve shown before with dish towels, but I wanted to give you some inspiration on how you could use it on an organizing item.
So here’s what I used:
A little plastic cup to hold the paint…you could also use a paper plate.
Gold fabric paint (I bought this tube on Amazon for about $4)
A pencil with a new eraser
Pour a little paint into the cup and spread it out with a toothpick or the top of the eraser. Then, dip the eraser into the paint, lightly. Firmly place it onto the bag. You can measure out the dots or just be random in your placement. I love being random. You could do this to one side, both sides or even the sides and bottom of the bag! Go wiled with any color bag or paint you want. The process is easy and simple. It’s quick too! Let the bag completely dry before using it.
Here’s what the bag looked like completely finished and dry. I love it and hope to make more as gifts!
