What’s In My Bag

I’m traveling for business soon and I’ve been putting together my lists and my supplies.  Since I travel a lot I have things prepackaged and ready to go.  However, I like to gather my favorite things that I use every day and take them along with me.  Here’s what’s in my bag this time around….

Vespertine has a line of reflective clothing and accessories that you won’t be embarrassed to wear, even out and about.  However, my favorite is their Blossom Clip.  Not only is it adorable, it’s functional.  Acting as a reflector, it keeps you safe while running, walking or biking on the road.  When I travel, I’m often on the road in unfamiliar places with unfamiliar traffic patterns.   This clip allows me to make ANY outfit fit for road running in a snap.  It’s light weight and compact so it doesn’t take up a lot of room in my luggage.  It’s hand made in NYC too!

Skirt Sports is a long time favorite of mine.  Their athletic skirt are not only amazing for running, cycling and the gym, but for travel!  I love the comfortable liner shorts that prevent chafing while touring around a city.  The small pockets, which are awesome for energy chews and keys while running, are awesome for your phone, a folded map or some lip gloss while on the road.  I particularly love the High Five skirt.  It’s long enough to look like a “real” skirt and the black makes it a little more formal. It also hides dirt and stains.  If this gets stinky while traveling, just rinse it out in the sink and it will dry over night.  This is a must have in my travel bag!

Carmex is an all time favorite in my house.  Their new line, Moisture Plus, has all the benefits of tradtional Carmex but it comes in adorable, limited-edition, patterned containers.  They are small enough for a pocket but cute enough to be seen on your desk.  I love the vanilla scent and the moisturizing feel that lasts and lasts. My husband has been known to steal these from me 🙂  They have SPF 15 in them too!

A great coat is a must for a trip, especially when you’re going to be out sightseeing and are unsure of the weather.  My Old Port Trench Coat from L.L.Bean looks great with just about anything, has lots of pockets for all my necessities and is oh so comfortable.  It keeps me dry in the rain too!  This goes everywhere I do!

I’m a big fan of Aubrey Organics.  Their products are effective, feel amazing and are all natural.  I can feel good about using them on my skin.  I love nothing more than their Revitalizing Toner.  It feels amazingly refreshing to use and leaves my skin clean AND moisturized.  So often, cleaners strip my skin leaving it tight and dry.  While this is designed to use after washing (I do that too), I love this after a full day in the car or out sightseeing.  It’s perfect for trips, long days at the office or after a workout.  Check it out here.

I don’t like to give up my yoga practice while traveling…BUT I also don’t like to carry my clunky mat with me and all my towels and accessories.  Aurorae’s Synergy Towel Mat is the perfect solution.  It’s a yoga mat on one side and a towel on the other.  The towel is absorbent and non stick, making practice easy and comfortable.  Here’s the best part….when the mat gets dirty, you can THROW IT IN THE WASHER!  How awesome is that?  The mat folds or rolls up easily.  It’s lightweight too.  My go to for travel!  I never go anywhere without sunblock.  Usually I have multiple bottles of it in multiple locations.  I really prefer a natural and organic option that’s not sticky and goes on via spray.  Yes, I know I’m fussy and this is hard to find.  But you don’t have to, because I found it for you.  COOLA has an amazing line of spray sunscreens that protect you from the sun’s harmful rays and keep you looking good, smelling great and feeling fresh.  COOLA’S spray is refreshing to use and stays on, even during activity and for about 40 minutes in the water.  They also have specialized face sunscreen, lip balm and more.  I swear by their products and I promise you, that you will too.  Even my “non-fussy” husband always asks me where this bottle is!  This is a must for any trip I take!  (And my every day life!)

Because I’m so crazy with the sunscreen, I don’t ever really tan.  So I fake it.  Right now I’m loving RITUALS mineral bronzing powder.  It’s soft on my skin and goes on easy.  It’s a natural glow so just a little will do and I don’t look like I’m trying too hard.  It comes in three colors and is made up of natural minerals and gemstones.  This and a chapstick are my summer makeup routine!

Bikini Luxe’s Boyfriend Tunic is a multi tasker.  It’s so soft and comfy you’ll never want to take it off.  I love wearing it over yoga pants…and it’s oh so comfortable.  It covers just enough if you know what I mean 🙂  I traveled for two weeks recently and I had this on non stop.  Soft, comfortable and flattering, no many how many hours I spent in the car.  Oh and it doesn’t get wrinkled in the suitcase!  It’s a one shirt wonder.

The top also looks amazing with jeans, a skirt and even a pair of trousers.  It’s a versatile piece that you can wear in any situation.  It’s perfect for a trip…pack less and wear this more.  AND, it’s super affordable!  You’ll want to wear this all the time, I promise!

Siganka clothing is my new best friend for travel.  Their clothes have a vintage feel…soft and comfy like something you’ve owned for years and year.  However, they are brand new and will quickly be the favorites in your closet.  I was able to try out a few pieces; a tunic, a top, a dress and a scarf.  This combination, along with a tank top, a pair of shorts, sunglasses and a pair of sandals is all you need for a weekend away.  The crinkled appearance to the clothes means you don’t have to iron them.  In fact, you can roll these up in a ball and they look even better than if you folded them.  The colors are so stunning and the pieces so detailed that you’ll be compliments every where you go.  Is there anything better than looking good AND feeling good?  Check out all their amazing pieces here.
