Let’s Get Organized Baby!

September 26, 2016 • Kids, Kitchen Organization

Not all baby preparation is done in the nursery.  In fact, not all baby preparation focuses on the baby!  I wanted to share with you some organizing products I undertook in order to make sure I had things on hand, ready to go, easy to use, and of course, organized before baby’s arrival.  Have a suggestion for me? Share it in the comments below!

Let's Get Organized Baby

First Aid

The mDesign Baby First Aid Organizer is the perfect size and shape to hold all of baby’s small first aid needs.  Because they are so tiny and in many cases, different from our grown up first aid kit, I felt it was important to have them all together in one central location.

While we have a bathroom near the nursery, I’m not sure it is the primary one we will be using for bath time for a little while.  In order to be able to give a bath anywhere in the house, I created this bath caddy with all of the supplies I need including bath wash, lotion, wash cloths and a robe.  I love that if something leaks, the container is totally and easily washable.

This over the door organizer has become a quick washing station for babies and adults alike.  I thought I would use this for Baby’s bath time, but I tucked some wipes in and I find I keep grabbing them to wash up when I’m in a hurry.  I am going to remove these baby robes when I have guests and tuck in some wash cloths and extra hand towels.

One of the things I did in preparation for baby’s arrival was to give myself a hand with cleaning supplies being close by.  I had a cleaning caddy all set up and ready to go on both my top and bottom floors. However, there were lots of rooms where baby might be making messes with no cleaning supplies which would mean leaving the room to get this.  This adorable and functional yellow caddy was perfect for creating cleaning caddies so that no mess will be left behind.

I took a few moments to create myself an area where I can make tea.  I plan to drink tea to keep me awake when necessary, and to hydrate.  Having my favorite teas and the necessary supplies in one container makes things easier, even when I’m sleep deprived.  This would be a great organizational solution for anyone!

Tea Anyone?

Until recently, I knew nothing about organizing bottles.  While I’ve helped my clients with it in the past, I didn’t understand how they would fit into MY cabinet space and how I could keep them under control.  I came across this gem of an organizer and it holds everything I need in one spot.  The section on the left holds the larger sections of bottles and the right hand area holds smaller pieces.  What I really love is that the blue portion allows items to dry if they are damp or dripping when you put them away.  This makes staying organized easy, even when you’re in a hurry.

In an attempt to feed myself quickly and easily….potentially while I’m preparing a bottle, I assembled this organizer with healthy and fast options such as instant oatmeal that cooks in the microwave in 90 seconds and protein bars.  The container has handles so I can grab it out of the pantry easily and because it’s clear, there’s no second guessing what’s inside.

Here’s another similar organizer, filled with pouches. If you had pouches for your little ones this would also be a perfect way to store them and teach kids to help themselves.
