Four Legged Family

Blue BuffaloNow that the holidays are here it’s time to get prepared.  While you’re probably thinking about menus and gifts for the relatives, your holiday planning shouldn’t stop there.  Your pets are your four legged family and they love you year round.  During the holidays, it’s important to include your pets in your holiday celebrations.  Here’s how you can:img_2187

  1.  Furry Photos. When you’re wrangling your family for those adorable holiday photos, take a fewextra moments and include your furry friends.  Adding your pets to your family photo will really make your card photo special.  And yes, you can even get them holiday outfits at Pet Smart 🙂
  2. Stuff Their Stockings.  BLUE Buffalo™ has a number of amazing products that are perfect for your pet’s stockings.  Their Kringle Cookies are perfect for stuffing in your furry one’s stocking.  My dogs are fussy about their treats (Am I the only one with fussy dogs?), and they LOVE these.  I also love to give them BLUE Buffalo Santa Stew, a wet dog food, to give them their own holiday feast.  Not only are these HEALTHY options for my doggies, they are fun for all of us.  And if you don’t have a stocking for your furry family already, now is the perfect time to get one!Summit Stocking
  3. Dog Proof.  There are a lot of things the dogs in your life can get into during the holidays.  Plants, food, strangers, and lots more can be added to their traditional environment.   Take a few moments to remove any dangers from their surroundings and to ensure they will remain stress free and healthy through the holidays.img_2191
  4. Feed Them.  Ok, all dogs love food.  However, while the house is filled with amazing scents and delicious treats, there’s a safe way to have your pets join in the festivities.  Give them one of BLUE Buffalo’s holiday treats.  Here you can see Roxy girl enjoying her Thanksgiving dinner.  (She ate hers much more quickly than I ate mine…and it was a lot easier to prepare.)img_2192
  5. Pay Attention.  With everything the holidays throws at you, your pets might be feeling left out or being left home alone a little more than usual.  Take some time to play with them, take them for a walk, or take them on a car ride.  This will destress everyone and ensure you’re all enjoying the magic of the season today.  My family often drives around looking at Christmas lights.  While my dog isn’t appreciating the displays, she loves spending the time with the family in the car.
