Organized & Healthy Eating With Green Chef

February 3, 2017 • Kitchen Organization, Meal Planning/Cooking

I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own.

Easy Dinner With Green Chef

I often say that healthy eating is all about getting organized.  It’s about knowing what you have on hand, what to buy, and how to prepare it to maximize your time (and fridge/freezer space).  Sometimes, the best thing to do is know that you don’t have a lot of time. That’s where Green Chef comes in.

How It Works

Green Chef is a delivery service that provides organic meal options (your preferences are noted in your account) that arrive on your front step.  Each meal comes with a detailed recipe and well marked ingredients.

In the kit I received there were two meals; Moroccan Tuna Kababs and Chicken Cassoulet.  Each recipe had a color associated with it (red and green).  The ingredients were labeled with a color coded sticker.  I put all of the ingredients into one of my fridge drawers for easy access.

Making It Happen

The meals were easy to make and I found the time estimates accurate. These are honestly more complex meals than I would normally make, but it was a nice change.  I did have to cook one of the meals a bit longer than the instructions called for.  However, that’s probably just a variation based on your oven and the pan you’re using.

I love that each meal has a side dish (or two!) associated with it.  Each recipe is a complete meal, no need to add extra work or thought to it.

Fresh and Local

The ingredients are fresh and delicious on their own.  I sampled a few of the fruits and veggies as I was cooking 🙂  Together, the ingredients make something unique and delicious.  These are meals I would have never otherwise thought of cooking and through the easy to follow instructions, this is a simple way to expand your meal options and skill set.

The food is locally sourced where it’s possible and it’s sustainable.  So, while there are other options for meal delivery out there, you can feel good about where your food is coming from.  It’s also organic.  The packing materials are also able to be recycled, composted, and reused.  Now that’s awesome.
