Our Process:
Most people have never worked with an organizer before, so this page covers our process—taking you from before to after.
What is Hands-on Organizing? Hands-on organizing is a complete organization service, and is purchased in three-hour increments. You can decide to work alongside our team, making decisions on what to keep or discard as the work progresses. Or you can have us organize the space while you are at work, or out enjoying some free time. Rest assured, we will set aside any items we feel may want to leave the space. We will never discard anything without your permission.
Taking the first step—Your journey begins with a phone consultation. This consultation is about one half hour in duration, and is free of charge. We will ask you questions to determine which rooms you would like to organize, your current use of the space, and what you would like to accomplish in the finished space. We also ask that you send photographs of the space you want to organize to give us an idea of the amount of “stuff” that resides in the area you want to organize. With this information we will work up an estimate of the hours required to complete the job.
If it would make you feel more comfortable— Depending on your proximity, we are able to come out to your home for an in-home consultation. The in-home consultation gives us an even better idea of the work required to complete your job. It is usually about an hour in length, and we will take photos of the space to help determine the amount of time required to complete your transformation. The fee for the in-home consultation is $100.
Let’s get started—After we get to know each other, we will determine a time to begin your home transformation. When we arrive, we will work through your space and assist in identifying items that you no longer need or want. If you would like, we can facilitate the donation or sale of these items. When this process is complete, we will be left with the items that we will organize within your space.
Full service solution—We will assist you in determining which, if any, organizing products and systems are needed once we determine what is staying in the space. We will work with you to ensure they meet your style, needs, and budget. We will always try to repurpose any organizing supplies you already have before recommending any new products to be purchased. If we determine that organizing products are needed, we can purchase these items on your behalf, or can do so yourself prior to the upcoming session. Any additional items needed along the way can be purchased in a similar fashion.
A place for everything—Finally, we will work to create a “home” for each of your items. This is where they will return to when you have finished using them. The finished result is a system that functions with, and streamlines your daily lifestyle. This approach prevents your belongings from being left throughout the home, causing the clutter to return.

We care about the environment! We will always try to recycle, reuse, donate, or Freecycle any usable items that are being discarded from your home. The landfill is always a last resort.
